it children need to be protected and allowed to develop into the gender they were born with.
The bill would prevent transgender miners from accessing hormone therapy and puberty blockers.
The bill also bans transition surgeries for anyone under 18 though
Medical experts say those are rarely performed on children.
While permitting the same medical care, such as hormones and puberty blockers, to be administered to any other juvenile for any other cause or medical condition, Slaw specifically intends to outlaw therapies for transgender adolescents who suffer from gender dysphoria.
Some families feel forced to flee their home state because of the law
“We are political refugees in our country”
The Ray family moved from Texas to Maryland to get better care for their trans son Leon’s mother Camille testified on behalf of trans children in Texas.
The Lone Star State is one of more than 20 that have passed bans on gender-affirming care, According to the Human Rights Campaign, 17 of those have now taken effect four others are on hold pending court injunctions and seven more state legislatures are considering

Republican Members said about this:
“It is crystal clear that Florida considers that to be mutilation and that it is wrong.”
I’ve backed legislation that would outright bar young people from undergoing gender transitional therapy in my own state and throughout the nation. “Democrats and President Biden have condemned the bans you do adhere to, know that as your president, all of us on this stage have your back.”
With nearly half of U.S. states having now passed such legislation
researchers estimate about a hundred and fifty thousand trans children are without access to the care that major medical organizations recommend Political debate with real-world implications.
There is far less debate there is a lot of consensus Actually the
American Academy of Pediatrics the American Medical Association all
say that this kind of treatment is beneficial for kids suffering and

The Texas law, which goes into effect today, prohibits transgender minors from accessing hormone therapy and puberty blockers. The bill also bans transition surgeries for anyone under 18, although medical experts say those are rarely performed on children.
The law has been met with widespread opposition from medical organizations, LGBTQ+ advocates, and parents of transgender children. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the World Health Organization have all stated that gender-affirming care is safe and effective for transgender youth.
“This law is a cruel and discriminatory attack on transgender children,” said Sarah Kate Ellis, CEO of the Human Rights Campaign. In order to find the care their children require, families will be compelled to leave their homes and communities.
The law has also been condemned by President Biden, who called it “hateful” and “discriminatory.”
For transgender children, this is a question of life and death, Biden added. ” Biden said. “The law is wrong, and I will do everything in my power to fight it.”
The law is facing legal challenges, and it is unclear how it will ultimately be implemented. However, it is already having a devastating impact on transgender children and their families.
“We are political refugees in our country,” said Camille Ray, whose family moved from Texas to Maryland to get better care for their trans son Leon. “We are compelled to uproot everything we know and cherish in order to provide for our child’s needs.”
The Texas law is just one of many that have been passed in recent years restricting the rights of transgender people. These laws are based on fear and ignorance, and they have no place in a just and equitable society.
