Unusual On-Set Incident During Filming of ‘Under the Silver Lake’ Revealed by Riley Keough and Andrew Garfield

During the interview, Keough disclosed that production on the film came to an unexpected halt due to a seemingly innocuous granola bar she was enjoying, which contained peanuts. 

The incident transpired just before a scene where she was slated to share a kiss with Andrew Garfield, recognized for his part in ‘Tick, Tick, Boom!’

Keough recounted, “The situation was actually quite stressful. I was in the makeup trailer, having a quick bite of a granola bar, when I was about to shoot a scene involving a kiss with Andrew.”

While in the makeup chair, the artist attending to Keough noticed the snack she was consuming and inquired about the presence of peanuts. 

Keough, a bit puzzled, acknowledged that there might indeed be nuts in the granola bar. Swiftly, the makeup artist brought the concern to the attention of a producer who happened to be a friend of Keough’s.

“The producer rushed in and informed me that Andrew has a severe peanut allergy and, as a result, we needed to temporarily halt production,” Keough continued.

“Having peanuts on set was unexpected, and I’m not sure why they were even there.” In that moment, I was taken aback, realizing the gravity of the situation. I’m immensely grateful to the vigilant woman who caught this oversight, as I was completely unaware.”

Keough and Garfield shared the screen in the 2018 enigmatic thriller directed by David Robert Mitchell. Aside from this incident, Keough also shared her enthusiasm for the experience of filming ‘Under the Silver Lake’ in the vibrant backdrop of Los Angeles.

Reflecting on the production, she remarked, “Working on ‘Under the Silver Lake’ was an incredibly rewarding experience, particularly because of the Los Angeles setting.”

Despite the fact that Los Angeles is my hometown, she added, “I’ve only had a few opportunities to film here as an actor.
