Tragic Killing of Shop Owner Linked to Pride Flag Sparks Outrage
This morning authorities in California are investigating what they say could be a hate crime.
A California store owner in Lake Arrowhead, a mountain community east of Los Angeles, was allegedly shot and killed by a man who objected to a pride flag hanging in her store.
California’s governor said this is absolutely horrific this disgusting hate has no place in California.

Authorities say the suspect who has not been publicly identified was fatally shot by sheriff’s deputies during a confrontation.
The victim 66-year-old Laura Ann Carlton leaves behind a husband and nine children.
The Lake Arrowhead LGBTQ organization said Lori did not identify as LGBTQ plus but spent her time helping and advocating for everyone in the community.
