However, amidst these setbacks, he remains hopeful about Lance’s prospects in his new home with the Dallas Cowboys.
“Undoubtedly, injuries played a role in Trey’s journey with us,” Lynch stated. “But let’s not forget, his story is far from over.
We’re genuinely excited about Trey’s future in Dallas. They’ve shown a strong interest in him, and we believe it could be a great fit.”
This trade signifies a significant shift in the trajectory of Lance’s young career, and as he embarks on this new adventure, all eyes will be on him to see how he thrives in Dallas.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan echoed this sentiment, stating that he believed Lance could find success in the NFL, either with the 49ers or another team down the road.
Lance had expressed a desire to be a second-string quarterback elsewhere, and the 49ers found unexpected interest in his services.
Lance’s time with the 49ers was marked by limited opportunities, largely due to injuries. He suffered a finger injury and a knee sprain in his rookie season and then broke his ankle early in the 2022 season, sidelining him for the year.
These setbacks paved the way for Brock Purdy to assume the role of the current starting quarterback.
In his time with the 49ers, Lance started just four games, finishing with 797 passing yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. His departure represents a significant shift in the team’s plans, as he was once seen as the future of the franchise.
With the trade to Dallas, the question now turns to how Lance will fit into the Cowboys’ existing quarterback depth chart. Dak Prescott remains the starter, with Cooper Rush and Will Grier serving as backups.
Lance is expected to assume the role of the third-string signal-caller, with the potential to develop further. At only 23 years old, Lance still has plenty of time to grow as a player.
It’s worth noting that Lance will be due $6.25 million in guaranteed money over the next two seasons, with the Cowboys retaining the option for a fifth year.
This trade represents a calculated gamble by Dallas, as they hope to harness the potential that was once associated with Trey Lance.
As Lance embarks on this new chapter of his NFL career, football fans will be watching closely to see how he adapts to his role in Dallas and whether he can fulfill the promise that led the 49ers to draft him so high in 2021.

The lawsuit centers around allegations that Facebook permitted the sharing of users’ personal data with outside parties, with the most well-known case being Cambridge Analytica, a consulting firm that supported Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Cambridge Analytica harvested the data of as many as 87 million Facebook users, as reported by the Associated Press.
Meta, Facebook’s parent company, has chosen to settle the claim, although it maintains it did nothing wrong.
In a statement sent to Nexstar, the company explained its decision: “We pursued a settlement as it’s in the best interest of our community and shareholders.
We changed our approach to privacy and created a complete privacy program during the previous three years.
We look forward to continuing to build services that customers love and trust while keeping their privacy in mind.”
Starting in mid-April and continuing through mid-May, Facebook began sending notifications to users to inform them of their potential eligibility for compensation.
By clicking on the notification, you can access more information about the settlement, which is also available here.
This settlement marks an important step in addressing concerns about data privacy and protection on social media platforms.
You’ll want to act swiftly if you think you’re eligible for a piece of the Facebook privacy settlement. The deadline to file a claim is coming up fast – it’s August 25th.
Now, here’s an important date to mark on your calendar: the final settlement hearing is scheduled for September 7, 2023. What this means is that any approved payments won’t be distributed until after this hearing.
So, if you believe you qualify for compensation, don’t delay in submitting your claim before August 25th, and keep an eye out for further updates after the hearing on September 7, 2023.
This is your opportunity to potentially receive a portion of the settlement, so stay informed and take the necessary steps before the deadline.
