Gators Set to Shine at U.S. Core Hydration Classic this Saturday
GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – A trio with current and future Gator gymnastics ties competes Saturday in Chicago, Ill., at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic.
In the second session of the US Classic, rising junior Leanne Wong will compete alongside 2023 Gator teammate Kayla DiCello and UF signee Skye Blakely. This session will be shown live on CNBC on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
Wong competes in his first elite tournament since earning gold with Team USA at the 2022 World Championships on Nov. 1, 2022. Wong is the defending US Classic all-around champion.
DiCello, who stated at the end of the 2023 collegiate season that she would take a gap year to pursue a berth on the United States Olympic team in 2024, returned to elite competition earlier this summer at the American Classic.

Blakely signed a national letter of intent in November 2022, eight days after earning gold with Team USA at the 2022 World Championships. She will postpone her enrollment at UF until the fall of 2024 in order to compete for a position on the US Olympic team in Paris.
